Will Apple Fitness show two workouts?
Yes, until you delete the original. Because Apple does not allow direct edits, the corrected workout is saved as a new entry.
Apple Watch treadmill distance wrong?
When your treadmill says 5.00 km but Apple Watch saves 4.62 km, Fix My Treadmill lets you enter the real distance, review pace and splits, and save a corrected copy to Apple Health.
Short answer
Treadmill workouts cannot use GPS. Apple Watch estimates distance from motion, calibration, stride, pace history, and sensor data.
Apple does not let third-party apps directly edit the original Apple Watch workout in place through HealthKit.
Save a corrected workout copy, then open Apple Fitness and delete the original if you want to avoid double-counting.
How it works
Fix My Treadmill keeps the workflow small: pick the Apple Watch indoor run or walk, type the treadmill distance, preview the corrected result, and save it back to Apple Health.
Choose an Indoor Run or Indoor Walk already saved in Apple Health.
Use the distance shown by the treadmill, then review the updated pace and splits before saving.
The original is not overwritten. The corrected workout is saved as a new Health entry with correction metadata.
The app guides you to Apple Fitness so you can delete the original workout if you want clean totals.
Pace, splits, calories
Distance-based values such as pace and splits are recalculated from the corrected distance and available HealthKit timing data. When the original workout exposes laps, segments, or interval timing, the app tries to preserve that structure instead of flattening everything into one simple average.
The app includes several split recalculation methods: proportional scaling, final remainder adjustment, preserving structured laps or segments, duration-weighted distribution, and rebuilding clean 1 km or 1 mi splits.
Heart rate and calories are not guessed from distance. They are preserved from the Apple Watch workout where HealthKit allows it, because calories depend on heart rate, body metrics, duration, and Apple's own model.
