How to play Hue
Sudoku with nine colours instead of nine digits. The logic is identical; only the notation changes.
The rules
- Full spectrum. Every row, column and 3×3 box must contain all nine hues.
- No duplicates. A hue cannot appear twice in the same row, column or box.
- Use notes. Toggle notes mode to track candidate hues before committing to a colour.
Where to start
Scan for the hue that already appears most often on the board. The more copies are placed, the more rows, columns and boxes it is excluded from, and the faster the remaining cells fall out.
Colour makes crowded regions easier to read than digits do, because you spot a repeated hue before you consciously count it. That is the whole reason to play sudoku this way.
