Rules and first moves
How to play Slant
Put a diagonal in every cell so each number is met and no loop closes.
The rules
- One diagonal per cell. Every square holds ╱ or ╲.
- Match the numbers. A number sits on a corner shared by up to four cells. It counts the diagonals that touch that corner.
- Never close a loop. Connected diagonals may not form a closed circuit anywhere on the grid.
First moves
- A 0 means every cell around it leans away. A 4 means all four lean toward it.
- A 1 on a board corner or a 2 on the board edge points every cell beside it at that number.
- If one diagonal would close a loop, the cell takes the other direction.
